Hi, I have had my macbook for a while now, meaning that apple care has been and gone. Is there anything in the uk that would be protecting me? So I could say on the phone I'm protected under blah blah to have this replaced.

Oops the vital part... The cable is frayed and bare where it goes into the power block. You know?

what macbook do you have? sorry but i still dont know what you mean and AFAIK there is nothing you can do as it may be classed as wear and tear. however if its a genuine fault apple will replace it anyway no problems - regardless of warrenty.

What if your under AppleCare still?

They replaced it for me even though it was not in warranty!

Failing that, if you know someone else who has a mac laptop in warranty, get them to assist.
