Basically i had a nasty engine rattle/ tapping on the 172 about a month ago so took it to the garage, they've since stripped the head down and found a damaged valve ( slightly scored on the stem part). Apparently this has caused damage to a hydraulic lifter :dapprove: what i need to know is...would i be stupid to just have 1 lifter replaced as opposed to all 16? or does anyone have any other ideas or suggestions?
