major help needed

i have a sport 172 and just been driving down the m6 when i encountered a problem, i put my aircon on and hit the top left button (shape of windscreen), then my heater plug (lit orange in middle of indicators signs) lit up and my car would not car above 3000rpm, any help plz plz

p.s once stopped my engine management come on and as lond as i do not press this button it appears to work and drive perfect.

that is a wiring fault some were putting the car in to a 'get you home mode' i had the same warning come on in my 1.2 when my ecu wiring loom fraied.....is warrenty still active???? if not once it happens take it to a dealer...and ask them to fault find on it with there nxr computer.... or just dont hit that button!!!! just put air con on, and select on windows......
