Cant believe it, i bought a number plate for £250 about 6 months ago just because i thought it was worth more than 250 and some guy has offered me £600 for it!! Its now SOLD!

The number was M3 XAX and the guy just bought a new M3 and seen me driving around

I have a new number pate on the way which is much better and more suited to the clio and me.

Girlracer - when the current plate gets transfered to the new owner, does the original plate go back on my car while im waiting for my new plate?

aaronc......

It depends what the cars true number is, and whether it is of any value to DVLA?

When you allocate a private plate to a car, you relinquish rights to the cars true number.

When you remove the private plate, providing the true number is still available, it will get it back, but if it was a decent number, DVLA may have sold it and give you a new number altogether.

My Williams true number was quite a good plate - L75 VAC.

I allocated my private plate, and when I sold the car, I went to DVLA local office to transfer. They told me that they had sold L75 VAC and gave me a crap number L765 GHS or something.......

I then had to run about like a blue @rsed fly, trying to get new plates made up for the guy to collect the car. ( I still had the L75 VAC plates )

Hope this helps.

My private plate is the cars true plate :) Renault were kind enough to register it with my plate when I bought the car. No idea what plate it will get when it comes to sale time.
