With that engine the only reason I can see for a manual is if you want to drift it, unless the auto box can’t take the torque from the upgrades?

6HP26 in a pre-lci should easily take 350bhp which is what that will be. Standard turbos, standard airbox with a MAF and an aftermarket intercooler usually doesn't get you much more than that

I think people just do it because they want a manual. On a large car I would have a 6/8hp over a manual every time. He probably hurt his old gearbox by never changing the fluid and decided he would solve the problem with a manual... instead of time travelling back 5 years and doing a gearbox service like a good boy.

I read the advert again, and he's put a Wavetrac diff in it, so defo doing Retail Park D1GP.
6HP is a decent autobox. 8HP is god tier.

They even shift acceptably quickly when you're using the flappers.

I dont think its that much slower than the DCT box in the F80 was and overall it's far nicer and smoother.

Same with the G8x, genuinely don't understand why folk got so bent out of shape when it didn't arrive with the DCT. It's still super quick on its most aggressive mode with none of the clunkyness that a dct box has


My missus loves it so much she's on the hunt for something else that had the 8 speed ZF, her old M135 had it as well and rated it

You can get a conversion kit to run the zf8. Lad at work has it so he can run the zf8 in his 135d
