marks and phases question

  ex Clio 172 owner :(

August 1990 H reg - mid 1994 L reg = mk 1 ph 1

so you see mk1ph1s on H,J,K and L plates.

August 1994 L reg - 1996 P reg = mk1 ph2 (there are a few mk1ph2 P regs)

so you see mk1ph2s on L,M,N and rare P plates

August 1996 P reg - mid 1998 R reg = mk1 ph3

so you see mk1ph3s on P and R plates.

then its mk2ph1 which is where my interest in Clios declinded until 2000 when the 172 was born...

Correct, but, there are a few N reg Phase3s too, which is weird!

Daz, actually thats a good point, Ive seen one or two, theres actually a P reg mk1ph3 round my way with the correct bonnet but bizarrely a mk1ph2 grille. Its definetly a mk1ph3 as its owned by an old guy who would have modded it and it has the 3rd rear brake light.

16vMuppet, just joshing, dont apologize, anyway strangely, these threads often spark up something new a bit like with what Daz was saying.

you dont know how different the seat frames are between mk 1 ph1 and mk 1 ph 2 are do you? - only my mk 1 ph 1 seem to be riveted on to the seat...can you unscrew the ph 2 ones?

(should i start a new topic for this? sorry)
