Mazda RX-8 231 on eBay

The level of interest is this is crazy!
Has anyone off here made an offer through eBay, if so let me know please...

I've been looking at these for months on and off. So tempting.

Don't suppose you want a ford puma in part ex? Lol

For £700 I'm not surprised! I don't fit in the damn things and I'm still tempted to make an offer on it!
Considering the amount of interest it has sparked, I've probably undervalued it TBH
I'm 6'3" and fit in it quite comfortably though?

Not really, I'm selling my Laguna track toy as well, having a pre-winter clear out, need the space on the drive TBH

I want it for the reasons I've always fancied one, that it has my fave tyres on it and you're only round the corner from me.
I also neither have the space nor the funds to purchase said car!

So if you see someone actually just kicking the tyre it's probably just me. :)

There's a chap round the corner who has one of the very last ones in white with all the kit on it, it looks fantastic

I'm the same height, but have relatively short legs and a long body. I find in a lot of cars that even with the seat as low as it will go I'm out of headroom, especially if there's a sunroof. :(

Opposite for me, very long legs, normal sized body, no sunroof in this, so I've got clearance

If I had the money I'd buy it, put it in my unit for 20 years then sell it as a classic. These cars really are a future classic, nearly all of them are being scraped.
Agreed, as they get rarer, they will start to go up in value, certainly if this was a tidy lower mileage example it would get mothballed

Wish the 350Z's were this cheap now! I remember Max Power saying they were rivals back in the days lol... can't get a much better looking car for under a grand really. GLWS!

Is that the one on Pole Lane, in Darwen? I pass it most days thinking it looks pretty smart.

It should be gone tomorrow, there is literally a queue of people lining up to buy it!

Not surprising really - where else can you get a 55 plate, 230bhp, RWD car with leather etc for £600!

Bargains.
When you put it like that...why the f**k haven't I bought it and just flogged the Clio

Yeah, there's a chance that it might s**t itself, but there's a chance that might happen with every £600 car. Just most of them don't have those kind of specs to roll around in, sidewayz!

That's the one - I walk past it when I'm taking the little one to Blacksnape's play area

They've also got a limited slip diff, carbon fibre prop shaft, decent brakes, 9,600prm redline, etc, all the ingredients for a fun car!
It's higher spec than my E90 330d too, the Bose sound system puts the BMW one to shame.

Even if you get a rebuild, it's still a cheap car

Honestly, if you feel like bringing it down south, I'll give you £750 for it: :)

The buyer is on his way... should be here in about an hour, if not I have other people queued up to come, mental

The problem is the car you've just sold had the mazdapspeed kit mate. Really rare! That kit can be worth a grand to the right person! They don't make it anymore and it's the only body kit that looks oem. Was it a guy called Ben who bought it by any chance?

The other problem to anyone who wants one is despite the fact that they are "231" bhp, they don't make anywhere near that. They make nearer 190 to 200 on a good day. My dad's series one (same as this) wasnt anywhere quicker than my 182. In fact it was slower.

His r3 with its different box etc was superior and an awesome car. A rebuild on the r3 with a streetport was over £3,000.

They aren't cheap cars to fix and they eat rear tyres I mean, seriously!

They're a car you need to want to own, constantly topping up with oil and premixing petrol to prolong the life of the engine, especially after a rebuild.

The r3 engine can pop at anytime for no significant reason meaning, a quite scary ownership if I'm honest.

The s1 (this car) dies more gracefully. To spend over £2500 on a £600 car is mental, and wouldn't make it worth anymore when you sold it really. Even with the rebuild.

They also only do about 20 mpg. On a run!

Lovely cars. More as toys though.

I have been involved with the ownership of one of these, don't just look at power and price.
