Megane Brembos

  Writen off dci 100
i was just wondering, if i was lucky enough to find a set of brembos off a megane sport would they fit onto my 172 cup?

  A4 DTM/iceberg cup
think its a straight no as hubs on the two cars are different 4 and 5 stud. dont know if the calipers can be hung so they could be used with the clio setup?

keep thinking of things like that too. you're not alone. thing is i dont want anything with alot of bite as i will probly kiss my car goodbye in the wet when all 4 corners lock up lol

Those brembo's should fit, regardless of whether the hub is 4/5 stud that just means you'd have to use different discs or drill the original discs precisely for the clios stud pattern. Most of the OE brembo calipers i've dealt or seen recently are just your bog standard bolt through fitment and then the factory use adaptors to fit them to the standard mounting lugs so you could make some up easily enough.

How about some of these:

:D

You'd have to change the master cylinder and get a bias valve otherwise you'd probably endo!

Anything is possible, right size wheel, correct bells and discs for the 4 stud fitment and some brackets machined and they will fit. bells and discs are easily availble from brembo, compbrake, AP just depends what size/width is needed.

just some custom brackets needed to be made, its probably more cost effective to buy a kit thats already available...

I like the attitude D4ve, anything is possible.

It's impossible to cost justify any car modification to car, regardless of the route you choose it's still burning money. Fun though

It's always cool to have you're own kit that you've developed, nice to have something properly bespoke. Everyone loves a challenge.

All of the suppliers develop all their upgrades the same way that we would at the end o the day. They usually choose the the parts that make the kit easily repeatable and cheaper for them to buy, not to say that this is a bad approach of course.

Forget those cacky looking ones, get some porsche 'big reds' on it !! ;)

Big reds are the dons.

Fitted some of those to a 1979 porsche 928 recently. Certanly made a difference!

How about a set of Brembo Carbon Ceramic Bad Boys.

The boss has got some 405mm 6 pot brembo's on his Range Rover, i could try and nick them on my lunch break tommorow?

^
wtf ?? never seen anything like those before, they look a bit like the disc brakes the kids have on their montain bikes !

y? theres brembo, ap racing, compbrake, wilwood, hi spec and probably a few others that are ready to bolt on

someone asked about the v6 brakes a few weeks ago, again its the same as the megane brembo's custom work will be needed to put it toghter.

its just like jam said i want to make my own set dunno why just do and i love the look of brembo calipers especially white on red

buy those ones from ebay, u might need 17" wheels tho depends on the disc size and who puts it all together (machines the brackets)

are you going to make the brackets yourself?

this is what u need -

how much was that ap set

what kind of work would be involved in fitting these onto 16" wheels

You need, some bells and a correct size disc and disc thickness for the caliper and to fit under 16's

you then need to get some brackets machined to sit the caliper in the correct place.

You will then need some correct length brake lines, with the standard renault union and the correct fitting for the brembo calipers

AP's there about £1180+vat i need to get the latests prices and hopefully set up a group by
