Megs G220 vs porter cable

  Chocolate Bar™
well having used both i can honestly say that i would go for the g220 everytime. and i cant really see any benefits that the pc has.

the megs machine feels lighter, is quieter imo, its better balanced and due to the D handle means its alot easier to work with as you can get a really comfortable grip and there doesnt seem to be any vibration into your hands so i could use it for hours, whereas after a short period on the pc my hand felt like it had pins and needles.

and theres no transformer ;)

Yeh, but naturally there going to iron out all the inperfections with the PC...

I'm happy with the PC, but i don't have any experence on the G220.

im happy with the pc but then again i already had a transformer so it worked out cheaper ;)

edit:

you do realise this means you can do 3/4 of my car with the g220 whilst i do just a 1/4 seeing as it will be easier/quicker and more comfortable for you ;) :rasp:

cheeky b*****d, but i still retain my comment that it will be easier and more comfortable for me to do it. so minion you can wipe the polish off and make the tea ;)

For anyone that has not got a PC and are buying now it really is a no brainer which one to go for, shame it has taken so long for it to be that way !

Yeah, as buying a transformer is basically a total waste of money if nothing else!

Plus changing the US plug to a UK one invalidates your warranty...

If i'm going to upgrade from the PC, it certainly won't be to a G220, it'll be in favour of the Makita.

Yes it's definately not worth a upgrade from a PC, but for people in the market for a new machine it's the one I'd go for.

I wouldnt have it as an upgrade from a PC, but as said, if you were in the market for a new machine its the one to go for.

you had any experience with the megs machine yet Ali? be quite interesting to hear the point of view from someone who uses a PC on a regular basis
