meshing a mk2 front bumper

anyone had any experience with this? i cant work out how to get the mesh in front of all the plastic bits and where to stick the mesh onto on the bumper.

cheers

Well thats scary! I was just about to post a thread asking this exact same thing!!! So if anyonme knows, how do you get the mesh attached to the bumper, and does anyone know whether its best to remove the struts in the bumper first or not?

Ive hear horror stories about hacksaws.

Dont know about you m8 but the word "hack" and my clio do not go together very well.

Cheers for that mate, its pretty useful info. Not sure I understand the last bit about the three bolts tho! Sounds like it would be a much easier method. I think Ill probably cut out the middle strut in the front bumper "grille" area anyway tho, cos Id rather mesh the whole oval area, and have the mesh right at the front of the bumper. Ive just bought a spare bumper just for the purpose so I can take a bit more of a risk with the old hacksaw!!

yeah good idea. so yur gonna cut all grid bits so its just one big hole yeah? dont think i wanna do that....just stick the mesh behind them.

Thats my plan, yep. Course its all very well in theory, but whether or not thatll work out in practice is another thing altogether!! I am in two minds about taking out all the grid bits, cos it might be too big a meshed area, and look weird on a standard bumper. The meshing behind the grille method idnt really noticeable unless youre looking straight at the car and low-down so thats what puts me off that. If there was a way of meshing further forward but still between the horizontal grids that might be best...
