Anyone running these whats the verdict??

I have had PS4s's before and they were a great tyre but just wondered if anyone tried these yet?

I've recently had them fitted on the 335d mate, had PS4S on there before

No complaints to far granted I've not been giving it death this time of year.

I'd have gone for the 4S's if I could've stretched the funds a bit more but for what they provide in performance and faster wearing wasn't worth the extra pennies for what I use the car for.

Running ps5 on my r26, no complaints seem better than normal ps4.

Dont perform as good as 4s but price is better.

P.S. one of the reason I use Conti's over the Michelin is that they are not as wide at the shoulder and I get less rubbing. That and they were the best dry tyre when I bought them.

Swapped from PS4 to PS5 on my Wife's motor, I thought the steering felt immediately sharper on turn in just at brisk road speeds! maybe a stiffer side wall? I've not driven the car hard to tell any difference other than that but will be swapping my 197 to them when the 4's are worn

Running PS5 at the moment, can't say there's a noticeable difference over the PS4 in the way it drives, but if they prove to be harder wearing that's very good.

I also noticed the better turn in on ps5 compared to ps4, sidewall must definitely be a bit stiffer.

Is there some kind of tyre shortage at the minute?

I was just having a look on the usual sites for the Fiesta and none of them were listing PS4s or PS5s and I know they do them in my size because I've seen them listed previously.

As a (slight) derail of the thread, how much worse would something like a CrossClimate 2 be compared to a PS5 in good summer conditions?

I'm wondering if it's worth sacrificing a bit of summer performance to claw back a lot more winter and wet grip...

PS5's are already very good in the wet, I can't imagine the cross climate is that much better?

I assume there's very little advantage in the CC2s in warm and wet conditions, but I'd be interested to know what they're like sub 10°C and wet. The last few weeks have been a bit sketchy on my PS4s, even with 4mm of tread left on them.

I have cross climates on my daily and they are decent in the low temps and hard wearing.

Ive no complaints about Ps5 in low temps either, for a summer tyre they are great. Mine have around 4mm on and not had any arse nipping moments.

Theres limits to both, but no dramas if driving to the conditions. Personally on a hot hatch, pilotsports all day long.

I’ve done 20k on a set of fronts that still have ~2-2.5mm left.

They’re wearing very well IMO.

Thats a fair test 😂 have they Ll been blow 30mph miles?🧐😉 How are they in the cold weather some say they are harder compound than 4's?

Nope, I don’t like going slow… I like nothing more than a motorway lesson and lay-by standing starts (all in the name of improving slip road merging and nothing to do with improving their 0-62 times honestly)😂

Personally, I’ve not had an issue in any weather so far. The only traction issues have been when the roads have been greasy in which case any tyre would suffer the same.

Thanks Sash much appreciated.
I will get some on order.
Wish you had been my driving instructor!👍 🤣

Can confirm at 80 though standing water on the M1, from melting snow, car didn't crash.

Van driver in front of me might have messed himself though, I don't think he was on Pilot Sports.

I'm not particularly worried about stuff like that, more wondering if I could eke any more grip out when accelerating hard in less than ideal conditions.

The current PS4s give me no trouble braking, turning and driving through standing water, but they do struggle to put the power down at the minute.

Can’t look past the sport contact 7s for me, both in terms of price and performance. I prefer them to the PS4S. The ride is better, they aren’t as loud, they are cheaper and wet grip is noticeable better.

I’ve only used them on fairly big RWD stuff so can’t comment on how they’d be on something lighter and FWD. They are awesome on the 5 series and M3

We run ps5 on our fiesta, done several track days, Have found the grip to be great and also very hard wearing. Will get another set when done no issues.

Have you driven the sport contact 7s on track as well? They would be high/top of the list to replace the MPSS on my M2.

I remember how much better the M140i was on MPS4 compared to MPSS..

No, but I drive slower on track than I do on the Mexican equivalent of the a689 and they are fine on there 🤣.

Hopefully can provide a proper answer in the spring once I get a chance to test them on track.

That may or may not be no more than 500 yards over my back fence 😁.

Perfectly flat and almost straight for about 3 miles. It’s drag race central right about now on a Sunday night. Nowt beats a top speed run down it when some dick in a juke does a 3 lane shuffle to overtake a transporter heading out of Nissan in front of you 💩 💩 😂

For anyone intrested camskill doing good prices atm on michelin, also cashback offer on from michelin too this month.
I used them for my PS3’s last year, got the cash back offer too. Saved a fortune over the other big name tyre suppliers.

Little update bump!

Had these on my car for 371 days and 30,00miles, could have stretched another 1 or 2k out of them if I really tried.

Over all I’m really impressed, had a little drop in grip at around 2mm left but unnoticeable unless really pushing on.

Fuel economy is a hard one to tell as I’ve been running injector cleaner every few tanks so I’m not sure if the increase is due to that or these tyres but I’d say it’s a negligible 1-2mpg difference.

Noise - my car is fairly abusive on the eardrums anyway so I can’t say I’ve noticed any difference there.

Comfort - I run XL’s so they’re always going to be a bit harder than normal but again my car isn’t exactly a Bentley when it comes to ride smoothness but it’s not anything to write home about either.

Definitely rate them so here’s to another 30,000 miles of PS5’s.

No complaints here either. Step up from ps4 in terms of grip, the slightly stiffer sidewalls on ps5 aid turn in.

Mine also gripped very well with low tread. Changed back to my summer wheels with a fresh set of ps5 on and the difference was marginal.

I did get some PS5's fitted thanks for all the info👍
Currently done about 1500 miles on them and very impressed so far hopefully they last as well as yours😂
(Doubtful thou☺️)
Traction is much improved in all weather and turns in well.
Not much difference if any to my pilot sport 4S'S so that is a good thing.

Thanks to all for the feedback and would defo recommend PS5's 👌
