Mileage - clocks or ecu?

Alryt, am thinking about changing the led's on my clocks but i would want to do this on a another set of clocks as itl be a first time playing around with leds and such. I was just wondering weather the mileage is saved to ecu or the clocks? Cars a mk3.

not sure about a mk3 but a mk2 it is in the clocks.

Hmmm chears does any fault come up when using different clocks?

Mileage is stored in the clocks, and not won't throw any fault codes swapping them.
