missfire!

right folks looking for abit of help, my wifes renault megane 1.4 16v has started missfiring today . keeps wanting to cut out at traffic and has lost a good bit of power. my father in law recons it will be a coil pack, which i kind of thought myself, has anyone else had similar problems?
any help would be appreciated.

That is correct mate, Loss of power accomponied by misfiring usually results in the coil pack(s) failing

pencil coils on these are sensitive. I grease the contacts on them when fitting and it seems to make them last longer
