Mixed feelings

Well this weekend I drove all the way down to Bath from Glasgow to deliver the clio to my mate who has bought the car off me. Must say i will miss the car. I really enjoyed the drive down and also blasting around baths roads. My mate seems really happy with the car and that in turn makes me happy. At least the car didnt go to some max power fan who would ruin the exclusive. Of note is that it is my mates first ever car, I hope he doesnt wrap it. He got a really good insurance deal, elephant gave him £680, he is just 25 with no no-claims and also has 3 points for speeding.

Im now driving around in a very nice and fast Impreza RB5, I know its not that popular car on here but I dont care. It sounds fabulous and goes like stink. A totally different drive to the 172 with much more accessable power, but I must say the clio doesnt feel that much slower. I ran both cars for two weeks so had a good chance to compare. Biggest difference - fuel economy. The RB5 just sups it up, so far I reckon 22mpg whereas the clio told me I was getting 33mpg in the city. Hitting the wallet hard but I expected it.

Good luck to all those selling mk1 172s, I never got a single call from autotrader onlookers. The only calls I did get were from folks seeing the for sale sign on the car. They all thought it was a 1.2 or something and expected half what i wanted for it. Sold it in the end for a bargain £5750. That still makes me feel sick.

enjoy your scooby they are awsome cars 3 of my friends have got them anthe only reason i didnt get one was the running costs

just cost a friend near £600 FOR A SERVICE an he gets about 16-19mpg

so id use 2 gallons of fuel to get to work!

have fun and be safe :D

Ill probably miss mine once I sell it but itll probably be the right time for me to move on to better things like you have with the scooby.

I was sad to see my first car go..... so we kept it as a run around lol! And even tho i have had all these probs with my car its been so much fun! Will be sad to see it go when it does

Enjoy the RB5 mate... awsome cars!

Clio wasnt my first car, I started with a 1996 BMW 328i sport, then went on to 2000 Golf V6 4motion. Then bought a flat so had to sell it. Bought the clio with the money i had left.

The RB5 isnt PPP but has Hayward and Scott downpipe and decat. At the back is a prodrive single pipe. Have performance filter but cant remember which. Reckon Im running about 250bhp. So far loving it Next service is a biggy but a specialist company in Perth will do it for about 150 less than subaru

Nice first car!!! I love the V6 4motion, awesome!

Didnt really enjoy the 4motion. Lovely engine and interior but really crap soft chassis, it was just so unpredictable when it was moving drive around to the appropriate wheel in bends. I bottomed it out on a couple of dips too. Sump too close to ground was always worrying about speed humps.

Heres two pics of the RB5. Not sure about tinted windows, they are dark and make reversing at night really hard. Just waiting for the police to stop me too.http://erc.qmuc.ac.uk/cliosport/gallery/full/1108595383__neil4.jpg
