mk1 clio idle problem

Got my mk1 out for the first time since Christmas on the weekend, she started first time but reved to 3000 straight awqy, cable isnt stuck and it revs above that fine.. does it.every time I start it up, any ideas?

Read somewhere to disconnect the battery so done that but still no joy, surely soneone has had this, engine is a d7f

all fixed now, brake cleaner in the throttle body done the job
