mk1 idle

what is the mk1 rt supposed to idle at? mine feels like its a bit low but cant find any problems any1 had same problem. and its only when it warms up but when cold sound like can hear valves moving or something. drives fine though

its bout 800 most time but does dip and would like bit higher think for comfort sake i think

usually from 800-1000

sometimes goes up and down a little bit but nothing major

usually 1000 ish when just started i.e. engine cold

mine like 1500 when started goes down to 800 wen warm HELP badly need it from sounds of it

as said already 800 - 1000, sometimes less, sometimes more - mine can be from 500 to 1500 depending on . . . . well depending on what the car fancies that day really

mine idles when it starts at around 1200 then drops down as the engine warms up to around 900

how long is it at 1500 for mate??

unless it stays at that for ages id say it doesnt really sound like a problem tbh

wouldnt worry mate, mine use to idle at the same as people mentioned above.

Mine used ot idle at about 800ishm, then went up t 1200ish, and now back down to 80 ish, and will sometimes drop below that, wouldnt worry about it

Mine runs between 800 - 1200 but sometimes it just drops too low and cuts out if anyone knows what the prob is pls let me know so i can fix it as does get annoying sometimes (especially when driving)

iscv prob needs cleaning

i used to have an erratic idle and just sprayed it with wd40 and wiped it over etc, now fine

seach for iscv or idle speed control valve

been done a few times i think

Thankyou thats the best advice ive had for a long time now im gonna sort it as had the prob since day 1 (had car for over a year and a half)
