Mk1 Owners Help me! Wont start

  ValverInBits
This is strictly immobiliser so i think it's in the right place.

I THINK, I have a standard immobiliser/alarm on my car.
The remote key isnt working this morning for the first time ever since i've owned it. It had an mot yesterday, i took it home, locked it and today it's not working (the red light on the top works as normal but it wont unlock the car)

The immobiliser wont give you any spark untill it's had a blip from the key fob. It turns over fine. not sure whether its the receiver (next to the int. light) or the blipper.

There are two little key switches one under the passenger side cowling (think thats what it's called) and one in the passenger foot well. I'm told they are to do with the alarm, I've used my little key to switch them both....no joy.

How do i get this started?

take the casing that the immobiliser reciever is in down from the roof lining and just try pushing the plug on to make sure it is on and hasnt fell off. Make sure the battery terminals are tight may pay to take them off and push a wire brush around them and make sure they are clean.

taken the neg side of the battery off and re fitted in an attempt to reset the car. no joy. It turns over well so im thinkin the battery is well seated.

Taken the receiver out and reseated it, no joy. Wondering if i can just connect two of the wires on that thing tho, theres only three of them, does anybody know how the system works?
