Mk2 ph1 headlights

One of my headlights is messed up due to the previous owner polishing over with turtle wax to clean; now I could probably clean it up, following the thread on here. But I've tried already and it's a bit of a ballache to be honest, and it's going to take an age to get it anywhere near how I want it.


Now I've been looking around around at replacements, but I can't find the ones I'm after and have currently. The only ones I have come across are the crappy looking ones with lies going across them, whereas mine are clear. Do these have a specific name? Or where can I get hold of some?

Also, how easy is it to replace these headlights? It doesn't look like a bumper off job, just a very tight squeeze.

You may mean dual optics(clear with a projector lense), you will need to remove the grill i think.

Ah that sounds about right, any idea where I can get hold of some? Or are they like gold dust?

No, second hand they tend to get snapped up quite quick, £30-£70 a set depending on condition or you can get a new set on ebay for about £120 ish. Keep an eye on your local breakers for a bargain set.
