MK2 V6 1/4 mile time........

oh.. thought this time of year... colder air intake temps... better performance? Hot summer days... less performance. Isnt mk1 14.5secs.. so mk2 would be better than 15s?

Not really after what time they do at certain times of the year... just official 1/4 mile time for mk2? ta. ;)

Ah sorry! Cant really understand how manufacturers or magazines can publish 1/4 mile times for cars, its a sport! Times depend on the skill of the driver (telford_mike=0 skill!). Also conditions make a huge difference, Santa Pod has no traction at all at the moment for instance.

Yep, I know what u mean...but u could say the same about 0-60 times.. conditions.. driver ability etc... Im wondering what the mk2 1/4 would be compared to the mk1... thanks.

Oh right, yeah thats true I guess. Well I beat a Mk1 V6 twice last weekend. Times were all over the place though owing to the ice-rink that Santa Pod seem to think is a good surface.

^^^ Wow, nice one - out of interest, what sort of rpm were you launching at? Did you just let go of the clutch all in one go?

182 will do 1/4 run in 15 secs, V6 not much faster then
182s were running high 15s / low 16"s last weekend. None of them got below 15.6. As I said, different surfaces, conditions. Unless you do some 1/4 mile racing youll never understand - its all about what happens on the day - nothing to do with past figures, magazines etc.

never done 1/4 mile racing, i know most mags say about 15 sec for the 182, i assume about 14 for the V6 in good conditions
