Mk4 0.9 TCE

Any got much info opinions on them are they reliable economical how do they compare to the MK3 [emoji53]

ive got a mapped dCi 90 one, night and day compaired to the mk3 absolutely love it, not tried the TCE though, I heard they were a bit gutless, better than the 1.2 16v 75 though!

On paper they about the same I did hear the need to be worked to get the best from them

I'm not sure 6k a year of short runs will be good for the diesel

On the flip side we have had 7 years & 36k of trouble free miles from our mk3 dci

Do you know much about the 4+ servicing does this mean it will get a oil change every year ?

It's 4 services as far as i know so yeah you would get your yearly service, my mrs is doing 30k a year ago we just get 18, 36, 54 and 72k out of them

They have a dpf so IM not sure if short journeys would cause some issues i just do about 7 miles a day in my 80 and its sound but no dpf on it

I wouldnt worry about it, will just remove it if it causes issues, the new ones map really well ours has over 200lbft goes like f**k!

Diesel will outlast the petrol imo, i agree tho if not doing miles go for a tce and avoid the 1.2 16v, or a gt tce 120 pre reg/2nd hand
