some dealers maybe iffy about a remap as they will say it changes how the engine works. air filter shouldnt be a problem but as to the exhaust im not sure - i imagine that obviosuly whatever you replace with aftermarket kit wont be under warranty (as its not on the car anymore).
I may be wrong and if so someone please correct me!
From what I've gathered if the mod you've made can be proven to be the cause of a fault they won't cover it!!
For example I put a Green induction kit on my 172 and they made a note of it but nothing else was said. Still did warranty work on it after that.
Obviously if you replace the suspension they won't cover the suspenstion etc!!
^^^yeah pretty much however i know that it varies between dealers - some will have no probs dealing with mods on a car whilst other swould like to kick up a stink and get into an argument with you
but you can do some mods to a car without voiding the whole warranty
The warranty is only void on parts that are directly affect by the mod. So for example a heatshield would not be replaced on a car with an aftermarket exhaust, but you would have no problems getting your steering wheel replace if it was faulty.
Depends on the dealer with closely related stuff, i had one dealer refuse to replace the headlamp adjuster on the rear axel as the car was lowered, took it to another one and they agreed to do it.
