Due to my recent mishap it makes me think how many people have notified their insurance company about modifications they have made to their car.My insurance company are being a fooking nightmare.(I cant go into detail in case they are watching ;) )But just give it some thought about what you would do if anything happened to your pride and joy.

What a silly bint! Have you got times and dates of phone calls made? Documentation to say it was added?

if thats the case, then you have nothing to worry about, they will have the phone recording of when you set the policy up.

im thinkin of a couple of mods for my 182.

rung my ins. company yesterday to enguire about lowering springs, and they said I have to be over 25 to modify the car on this policy!!

I was thinkin though (i'll check with them) instead of modifying it by buying aftermarket parts, i could modify it by buying optional renault extras eg cup packs. (splitter, wheels etc) Do you think this would get me off the hook???

Adding optional extra parts is theoretically not modifying the car, aslong as you dont admit to adding them yourself, or if you do explain that they should be on the car to begin with but have been removed so you re-added them. Also when you take out insurance it is important to check your policy documents to make sure that all of the information is correct (ie: declared modifications)

Ohh, nice R26! Best colour :D Where in Essex are you, will have to keep an eye out?

Insurance companies are a nightmare. I remember last year I rang my insurance company to renew but had to make a few changes. I got a certificate through saying it was all confirmed etc. Then a couple of weeks later I got a letter saying sorry to lose your business. When I rang to ask what was going on they said my details hadn't gone through the first time so I'm not covered! I was driving around with no insuance without even realising, even though I had the certificate to say I was insured, it would have been my word against theirs if I had to claim!
