yes but for that sort of money u could get an Emerald ECU!! or the Omex 500, but i think they might have stopped producing these

I had an rs 1800 before the 172 and it had a pannel filter, full magnex and de-cat and i fitted a uni chip at aldon auto in brierly hill.My first dry run gave an indicated 130bhp which as most know is standard bhp. They then fitted the exhaust ,filter and chip and i came away with 148 bhp using a dastek. To me that was quite impressive given the mods and small 1.8 engine. The chip and 3hrs on the rollers came to just under £400 and that was 2 yrs ago.

i would recomend it to anyone.

Id suggest SMT6

more mapping points and options than the Dastec...cheaper too (I can get the chip for under £100)

If you liked, I could probably get you the chip and ship it to you, but then youd still have to get in installed and tuned (which might negate any cost advantage)

the place near me just charge for RR time only to set it up, i asked about having a remap if i got a unichip! are the chips you get all the same, or are they specific for the type of car? im sure when my mate went for one with his 19 16v they had 3 types. 2 for clio 16v and one for spider. or would that just be the program they run to set it up?

where did u get urs done for £400 mate?? iv heard a lot of places dont know what they are doing which aint good hehe.

i really need one, but not really got that sort of cash to blow at the minute lol

I got mine done in brierly hill, west midlands at a place called aldon automotive http://aldonauto.co.ukhttp://aldonauto.co.uk and they come as a blank chip to piggy-back onto your engine managment and you can specify what you want, whether it be tourque or just outright bhp depending on your type of car.they were really good and seemed to know their stuff

Regards,ian

Anyone every tried one of these?? I downloaded the software to have a look at it. It is True "laptop" power. Plug in and it will display all engine stats. tweak em and hit a button. Bobs your Uncle.

I guess, unless you press the wrong button and you engine goes bang.
