MOT Coming up (will there be any problems with it being so low?)

  Static Low
its a brand spanking new set of coilies mate. cars bout 85-90ish front and maximum at the back, with one of the rings off 80-85mm. should all be ok i guess

i've heard of cars failing because they cant get them on the ramps.

pretty sure they'd only be allowed to refuse to do the test rather than just fail it as getting on the ramp isn't a part of the test. The test center we use has their 4 poster sunk into the floor, so there's no ramp to go up.

you cant 'fail' for it being too low unless its unsafe. however you will get refused at alot of places as they cant get it on the ramps to get it tested.

You cant fail, but the station can refuse to test. It happened to me once when i had a lowerred 306. I then took it to another station that I knew had a pit, he said it was close to the bump stops.... and failed it (on other things!)

do your wheels touch on the inner arches?
going to be ticky going a brake test in the rollers as well they will proberly take it down the road.

just a quick note for you mate , my last car failed its mot because the wheels were just mm from the arches .

  Golf TDI
but with this said , it was only because it was extremely close !! . lol if the back end went over a big enough bump it would always touch the tire for a second. you should be fine , just consider your biggest rpoblem getting in on the ramp :p

Why not just raise it for the mot it will only take ten minute and then you are not risking failing

Things to check:

General rubbing/knocking.

Springs becoming unseated (when the car is raised up for example)

If the springs unseat themselves, it's a definate fail. Why not just raise it up as said? :S
