Get it done a month before due, that way u have some time to sort out any potential faults.

Does my nut when people have them done 2 days before it runs out, then panic coz it fails on a few things and the garage can't fit them in again for week

My 172 failed its second MOT around 48k on brake imbalance . One of the calipers wasn't pulling as it should . A bit of grease on the pistion and bobs your uncle , it passed :)

I know the bloke who's testing it, so all should be fine :) but he won't pass it if something major is wrong.

As it should be mate, I used to be a tester. When i started at a new garage one of the other lads in the workshop asked me to test his beat up old mk4 escort. I gave him the failure sheet as long as his arm and he hled out his other hand expecting the certificate.

I said ' It failed!'
He said 'come on where is it i need to tax my car'
I said ' IT FAILED'
He said 'c**t!'

I let him off the split wiper and number plate lamp but there was no way i was putting my name to a car with a bald tyre, blowing exhaust and a rotten chassis
