MOT

  Skoda Fabia vRS

just passed my MOT, stuck the cat back on for it.....

here are my gas readings.....

HC level - 14ppm
CO2 level - 14.80%
O2 level - 0.52%
Lambda - 1.02
does this mean anythin to anyone ?......what are the limits ?....was i close to any of em

on idle (450rpm to 1500rpm) the CO has limit of 0.5%

on fast idle (between 2500rpm and 3000rpm)

CO hs max of 0.3%vol

HC has max of 200ppm

Lambda has to be between 0.97 and 1.03

Thats all thats required for an mot as far as im aware, did you get the basic emissions test results back? its usually white a4 sheet with list of tolerences.

And the above limits are for a cat equiped car.

it would be interesting to see what those figures are in comparison with the de-cat pipe ON.
Yeah, they seem pretty healthy figures so I dont think a de-cat would make that much difference as to fail it.

My valver got through the MOT with the de-cat, but then again the MOT tester is a mate!;)

well i dunno guys, it did fail the first time last year on emissions, well, it would have done, he looked under my car an saw no cat, so he tested it again as a non cat car an it passed :).......who was i to argue ! hehe

this time i was runnin Optimax and have been for some time, and also a new Fuel Pill which i bought......

I passed with the cat on this week, a couple of weeks ago i failed on emissions. The guy said he aborted the test s it was cloging up the machine:oops:

I took my cat off, and put a K-Tec de-cat on with full K-Tec system, also have a piperX and engine appears to be running fine. Put it in to test emmissions and resultant CO was 0.8% which is a fail but not to dirty really without cat, although am going to have to face the task of refitting cat for next MOT, which now has me worrying as cant recall when it runs out! Sorry couldnt remember Hydrocarbon count but CO was defintetly 0.8%
