Motherboard beeps

  None
Having trouble with my pc upgrade atm. I basically have a DFI Lan Party NF4 SLI D motherboard but unfortunatly I dont have a manual. When I boot up all the fans come on, inc. the fan built into the motherboard but it beeps. I get one long beep then 2 short ones. Thing is the long beep sounds like it might be to beeps as the beep isnt a clean beep :/ can anyone here help??

Also noticed after the beeping the cpu fan keeps spinning but the motherboard fan stops spinning

The beeps mean something. (obviously!) try searching the net for something like "bios beeps".

Other than that, take out all the cards, RAM, CPU, etc and put them back in and try again. Could be that something isn't quite plugged in right.

Think it may be a ram issued so I spent almost 230 pounds on some fine 2gb ram :D I know this ram will work its just a matter of waiting now lol

What do the diagnostic led's show?

BTW the manual doesn't give details of the BIOS beeps codes (manuals in front of me)

I havent yet looked properly at the diag leds as me being a fool was looking at the top of the motherboard in the case when they are at the bottom lol. Im pretty sure its not the gfx card as ive tried 2 different ones but im going to keep it in mind cos if I have any more probs im just going to take it back and get a different board form another manufacturer

I'd flick out your CMOS battery and go back into BIOS once you've put it back in (after about 20 seconds or so). My MSI mobo does exactly the same - the fans come on, beeps of a similar nature and a completely black screen. It happened when I set the BIOS defaults to 'High Performance'.

I reset them to defaults and manually changed them. Worked fine since then....

Mine does something similar...doesn`t seem to affect anything but it is more like a squeak that a beep...really weird but does it every so often....more like hours than mins
