had a mate with a 172 forwarded on by renault inchape(southampton) to check over a curious knocking noise when driving the car whilst on a left hand turn,he left the car with them on 10/6/06 and they told him he needed a laser jig test and a engine geometry testand they would sort the problem and they said for him to come back the tuesday to collect the car,come tuesday my mate goes back to get the car and they havnt done the work as said it had been sat in the same place since the 10th,they finnaly got round to doin the 1st laser jig test on the 19/6/06 and said the car was o.k and now it would need a geometry test and for my mate to come back thursday(today) to get the car,so we goto collect the car today and they havnt even done it so we said we'll take the car as they've had it for nearly 2weeks to do 2 tests which any garage could of done in half a day but when we went to get the car they had parked it right at the back of there compound so we had no chance of taking the car away!!! so they promised that they would have the geometry test done by tommorrow but they havnt and there customer service is arrogant and crap and timewasters!!!

I wasn't overly impressed with the salesman i spoke to last time i visited inchcape.

I've dealt with a few salsesman at Inchcape and the only one worth dealing with is imo Alex. Don't forget though it aint the salesmans fault for the car not getting fixed.
Have you tried Seward Renault in Fareham Shaun? They could be worth a shot, what with being newly opened they might be eager to impress.

whats the renault garage like in chandlers ford then? well my mates got his 172 in at k-tec on wednesday to have new engine mounts fitted and rubbers

Simpkins seem a very decent bunch of guys to me. Not really had any major work done there, just ordered some parts, but i'd definitely go there if I need to visit a renault franchise (warranty work etc). They've been in the area for years, not heared a bad word about them.

Otherwise i'd take it to Rentech of course :approve: .
