MP3 CD Autochangers

I am thinking of upgrading my ICE system soon, currently got the standard system in but I have been thinking of a Sony MD and MP3 CD Autochanger for under the seat.... which leads me onto my question, what is the quality of the MP3s like in their original format ? Is it CD quality ? It obviously depends on the quality of the MP3 that you download but if they are CD quality MP3s then is the playback the same ?

Heh, not answering your question but thats the ICE that I am going for when I can afford to buy the changer, adapters, speakers (already own the MD and a 10cd changer thats too big). Would be interested if you get everything working (ie, mp3 display on dash remote display etc)

Ive got a Sony MD headunit running

md changer and a mp3 6 disc changer

sounds ok - it is all down to the quality of the mp3

it will never sound as good as cd but I personally cant

tell the difference once youve got the noise of the traffic.

TonyKL - what do you mean by dash display - the one that shows you the radio station you are listening to etc..

if so unfortunately it will not work with my head unit and I was under the impression it wouldnt work at all, once you have removed the original headunit.

i cant tell one bit of difference between mp3 and cd, i think the only people who say they can are just talking bs

Helen, there are a few sony comatible adpaters, some mean the middle display in the 172 just shows time and temp, others allow you to still show radio etc (costing from about £30 to £80 for display and steering control). I was wondering if these would allow mp3 id tags from a changer on them. Might all be trivial as I want to try and get the sat nav dash fitted with a tv in there - nice :) One thing at a time, get a job first :(
