Mr Gunn - SmartPhone Input Required Please

Mr Gunn,

Hope you are well.

It is smartphone time I am afraid, and your knowledge needs tapping.

What I don't want:iphone

I would consider:

HTC There seem to be a few good ones available here: http://www.htc.com/au/product.aspx
Nexus (essentially a HTC?)
Others at your discretion?
Samsung?
Blackberry?

I need (android maybe?) email, camera, GPS, wireless internet access, bluetooth, connection sharing with laptop, web, apps (4Square, Social Etc.) Good battery life.

What says you at the moment sir?

Thank You.

Nexus one or HTC Desire for you old chap.

If not, then maybe hold out a bit longer for some of the Samsung android units.

Don't get a nexus if you want tethering and don't fancy rooting the device.

It doesn't support it out of the box. You will need to root it (and therefore invalidate your warranty) to install any tehtering apps.

The HTC Desire on the other hand (which is pretty much the same except it isn't tri band) does do tethering out of the box.

I have both devices, and actually run the HTC Sense/Desire Rom on my Nexus, the interface is that good.
