MSN contacts wiped!

Went on MSN the other day, and saw the list of contacts online and offline. Before my eyes the list scrolled up and left me with nothing. It left just a button for adding contacts saying 'your contact list is empty'.

I didnt click on anything by mistake, I presume its a virus or somthing.

I looked in my settings and all the contacts are there on my allow list, but is there an easy way of adding all these in one go?

Since this happened I have used a different version of messenger to see if the contacts opened on there, and also on the xbox. Both also stated I have no contacts.

Anyone had this happen before?

I searched and only found problems going back years ago. This is the latest version of MSN as far as I am aware.

I have had that version of messenger for a couple of months but havent bothered to use it for a while as I hate it.

You haven't typed anything in to the little search bar at the top have you?

Mine has recently done exactly the same.

However, I think it is the result of an account hack - as all of my hotmail contacts have gone. Before they were deleted, they were all sent an email with a link for cheap/free iPhones.

My Hotmail account doesn't receive all of the emails that are sent to it either.

Anyone got any ideas?

same happend to me ^^

just changed my password and deleted all my messages. its only used for msn now.

Do you keep chat logs? This will give you some of your contacts and handily none of the ones you never spoke to anyway
