MSN Problem

Right, I have finally decided to get MSN installed on one of my work pc's but am having a few problems.
I firstly got the MSN Live version and that wouldnt connect. Did the troubleshoot thing where it tests the connection and that was fine. Gave up on that version so tried version 7.5 and it will eventually connect but when I start conversations no-one is replying (I don't think they are getting my messages).
Any ideas?

Other people who use the connection can use it fine.

maybe they are ignoring you? i had similar problems, but seemed to sort its self after a while

if you've just done this recently one of the msn messenger servers were down but i believe all are up and running again. is your firewall allowing msn to connect?
