MSN - Webcam problem

  172 cup
Got my new laptop last week. My housemate installed MSN which I beleive is the newest version.

The webcam worked the first night then doesnt seem to work anymore.

It works when you go through to Laptop settings so nothing to do with the webcam its a problem with MSN.

Anyone else had this and know whats wrong?

would disabling mcaffee whilst you want to go on cam be enough? you've probably paid for it, and it's less effort than uninstalling, if you havent already. Just a thought

fair enough, you probably have a month's trial or something like that.

If you go to the icons in your system tray (next to the clock in the bottom right) and look for the mcafee icon (hover on them and they tell you what they are) then you are probably able to right click on it and disable firewall. Try and see if your camera works then

unless i am mistaken, I assume it will be the firewall part of mcafee that will be blocking your camera (not your antivirus) and if you replace it with AVG I believe it is just an anti virus program (not a firewall) so you will not have a firewall installed on your computer.

That isn't a huge problem because your router probably has a firewall so you will be ok, I'm just being pedantic about it incase it was a concern.

edit, nevermind it doesnt work!
