lad lost one at oulton this year when i was there with r kid, hand on cage, shattered and mangled hand, car was near on spotless...
 
You also need arm restraints with a cage.

jesus both them where harsh i dont get half cages, if your gonna stick a cage in, stick a bloody cage in. and thats why ive just ordered a cage that is probably abit ott for what the cars gonna be used for.
 
MX5's don't come out well in accidents like that. S2000's screen frame and pillars are much more robust but given age/cost/weight difference that's to be expected. If I planned on driving an MX5 (tbh any car) on track I'd want a full cage not a half cage fitted in. You can't put a price on your safety.
