I nearly spunked over £1k on a set of wheels. If I had the money, I'd spend more. Sensibleness kicked in (y0) though and I went for some cheap banded steelies. I think the original front end would make it look perfect.

Love jettas! I was chatting to a lad with a mk2 jetta vr6 last night.

There's a nice left hooker coupe on pistonheads at the moment running twin webbers for 1800.

Yeah Im talking under £1000 standard and starting from scratch! I'm no mech either so it'd be purely cosmetic as long as bodywork was alright.

Looks like a good base for a project.

I love mk2, miss my old valver like crazy :( and every day i look on E38 in the for sale section hoping a nice clean cheap one will pop up. Once i get married in May and settled into our new house i will deffo be in the market for one as a little project. RMs, coilies, standard valver and just make it factory fresh.

I would (did) happily spend £1k on a nice set of rims for a Mk2 as they make the car. Did you go for banded g60s?

I wish I could justify spending the money and had the time to get mine looking as nice as that :(
