My car has a problems ;(

  Renault Clio
fZGI1
Yesterday when I was driving an orange light came on the dashboard and it wasn't eating gas it wasn't going over 3000rpm so I decided to pull over switch off the engine and back on the light was gone car was working fine today I drove for like 15 min car was all good and then the light came on again so I switched it off and on it was still on and then the engine light came on I'm really worried what's wrong with the car and I know I will take it to the mechanic asap

Looks like an electrical problem with that warning light, sending the car into limp mode. Mine did it a couple of weeks back and the day after my starter motor broke so clearly it was showing there was an electrical problem with that.

I'm sure other people on here will be better to answer this than me though before you go paying a mechanic to diagnose it. If you do take it somewhere take it to a Renault specialist.

Yeah in that case could be one of the above I mentioned, worth mentioning to this mechanic. Should show up when they plug a diagnostics fault code reader in.
my mechanic said his busy and said bring it on saturday so im going to take it then im hoping its something minor i brought the car 1 month ago im only 17 and i paid for everything myself such as insurance roadtax mot etc.. and if the car breaks down on me im going to be in such a bad mood because i am totally broke right now :(

Yeah, all the more reason to be careful with mechanics who aren't going to rip you off man.

Diagnostics machine first, should give him a fault code corresponding to what the issue is, don't let him just try and troubleshoot at random unless the code reader shows nothing (but it probably will show something given there's a light). Random mechanics like to rinse customers who aren't well informed.

Guessing that puts these plans on hold then?

Take this as a lesson, young sir, cars will kick you hard in the wallet at any given moment :/

Mine has brought up the electrical fault light twice and gone into limp mode, everytime it's because i've knocked the accelerator plug with my foot, so I unplug it, makes sure there's no crap on the plug or in the socket, plug it back in and the light's gone and the car works fine, plugged it into a computer the first time and it brought up a whole host of problems, but it turned out they were all related to accelerator plug and vanished once I realised it wasn't in properly.

Not sure if yours has the same plug being a 1.4, but it can't hurt to look.

If you car's drive by wire (the pedal sends a signal to the engine) they'll be a plug at the top of the pedal, you'll have to get in the footwell and have a look for a wire that plugs into the top of the accelerator pedal.

If your car's fly by wire (the pedal's connected to the engine by a steel cable) you won't have a plug there, at least I don't so.

I don't know enough about 1.4's to tell you either way.

well im hoping its something minor and simple to fix she is going to get checked out tomorrow
It is indeed. Maybe it has a different function in petrol Clio, but yeah, that looks like a glow plug warning...

AHA!!!!

It doubles as an "engine management" warning light

my mechanic plugged the car to the fault error code reading machine he said its something to do with a brake and something else sensor so he cleared the dashboard warning lights and now the car is working fine lol wtf
