Personally think they are awful looking things. Wouldn't own one, no matter what it was running.

Looks clean though mate.

  172 and vw passat
I got a lift home on friday night in one of my mates, have to say they are really quick. I wouldent mind one tbh.

lol thanks for sum of the replies i guess lol.

Mines far from standard. its running 229bhp and almost equal torques.

Beats almost everything from standing start.

Im very pleased with it tbh, considering 130bhp standard and ive spent just over £1k and its got 100bhp more.

I also like the styling of my car (not to blow my own trumpet)

It got coilovers to which make the handling ALOT better, its like its on rails.
Very close to the Clio sport handling (will keep up in the twisties :D)

Thats about it really. Any more questions?:rasp:

It must fly then, as the one in the video I just posted is 250bhp. Holy s**t.

i was very close to owning one a while back, i put my 172 up for sale and that was what i was getting, until i went and drove one, the interiors are terrible, and even though i would of stripped most of it, what would of been left would have still offended me

i do like the exterior looks and think they are great little cars, but another thing that bothered me a little was that i would of had to spend the money to get the handling of the car i already had.....

i ended up keeping the 172 and changing it...a little...lol

2 very good friends have starlets, not slow ones at all, one is a full custom build, rear mounted rad, front arch side exit by wheel...can't remember what its running now, but its silly

i love these, my mate had a fairly standard GT and it was a hoot to drive!

i raced a silver glanza in stirling a few months ago and it was Very quick, he was struggling to put power down big time because it was damp, i had to work the 172 hard to keep up with it untill tripple figures when i started catching it easier as you say not much money gets you big power!

Epic little cars. A mate of mine (who is on here) still misses his, preferred it to his Trophy.

Hi
And yeah, I do miss that car badly.. but you get to the point where theres just too much power going through the front wheels eh gaz

Im sure it was only 175bhp you posted on another forum and your still on the ct9 so its pretty impossible to see over 200 atf :nono:
Also, lol @ very close to clio sport handling.

Don't kid yourself.

anyone looking to buy one of these drop me a PM.

A mate is selling a really nice one with all the import docs, tein coilovers, bigger rear ARB, f**k-OFF front mount intercooler (nearly 6in deep), really nice custom zorst and equal length mani, and recent rebuild.

edit: oh and....christ on a bike these things grip.

Mine was about 230bhp and would stay with most things. As for handling i've owned some well set up cars and this was one of the best. It did have expensive sus mods though..

I'll always stick up for these.

  Black Clio GT
love these cars, good bang for your buck if the suspension/engine is set up properly.
but the seats are crap, some nice buckets and cage ftw........

Lol that was a few months ago matey, ive got a GT Spec hybrid now, and new manifold, exhaust and downpipe.

I got it set up at a different rolling road to last time as well.

Monstermotor sports do the dyno runs in 3rd gear rather than 4th gear(like most RR places) and when in 4th gear ont he run you see better bhp figures.

But like i said, my car has changed in the last few months since that RR.

And yes, a friend had a 172 on coilovers/springs (dont remember) and mine handled equally as good as his car.

Fair enough about the power, bit optimistic bout the tong hybrid though unless your running it at 1.2 bar~

Dont agree on the handling though, saying that Im comparing the glanza which was on coilies and all ARB's to my trophy and the difference is miles apart.

Looks wise they shout cheap and chavvy to me, but I know they are rocket ships. There were two down at a rolling road meet that had just finished and they flew off down the motorway, well in front of the CSers.

I had 230bhp from a CT9/12 Hybrid.

I really cant see why people think the handling is bad but then i've never driven a standard one. Being stripped with ARB's, Anti lift Kit, front and rear strut braces and 1k Tein Coilovers mine handled immense. I was pushing a mini works gp along understeering before the glanza. Hardly bad imo. I've owned some awesome handling cars too. Clio's, ATR etc

exactly, ive driven clio sports with coilovers and ive driven my car with coilovers, ARB's and spec2's and it handles immense. Standard they are shocking lol.

I think i mite strip mine HEHE. lol
You rekon its worth just taking out the back seats n everything else in the back?

  Fiesta ST-2
Mate of mine had one running 260bhp on a TD04 turbo. Was a rocket when it spooled up the handling for me was very unimpressive (I had a drive of it) it had coil-overs and had been proffesionally set up at centre of gravity for the cost of £500! Did look amazing though.

Well with 230 i was pushing a Evo 6 along quite easily. I dont like taking them past 120 though i must say.

Yep i'd say so. Thats what mine was like anyway..:)

Mine was also on fully adjustable coilies, adjustable rear arb, alk, polybushed.. bla bla
But it still didnt handle greatly, I tried varying levels of alignment and adding more negative camber to the front helped but it was still an understeering b**ch at times.

As i said before I am comparing this to my trophy.. which, the suspension setup is pretty much perfect for a fwd car so maybe I am not giving a fair comparison.
This was mine as it was sold a couple of months ago;

Looks smart. Late spec too. :)

We'll have to agree to disagree..haha! Nah fair enough, maybe i was just lucky. The rear suspension setup is never going to be the best but mine really did handle. But then i've only ever been in 3 Glanza's and none felt like mine. :)

Yeah it was a lovely car.

Im not saying the handling was shocking man by any means, standard YES they boat alot. Mine was good, but when pushed to the limits it would misbehave thats all.

  182
Any of you got parts to sell me?

Also, i want to strip the rear, but what do i take out? is it just the rear bench and door cards?

Help me on this please.
