My little 1.2 TCE Project.

Hello folks im Adam from Northern Ireland, Im new around these parts so I thought id stick a little prject thread up.

Currently Ive put a spoiler and a front and rear lip on my clio. Due to Gaz's recommendations ive de-badged the clio on the back.. looking at a K&N 57i filter and a remap.


it started out like

then i fooked the front and rear spoiler.. so i took the rear off.. front is on but cracked

these pics are the latest but the camera was fooked so its blury as hell can still see the shine though!

whats a DV ? im still learning :p and yup i belive u can get it to about 125bhp with the remap + air filter, we'll see though.

Dump valve.

That's the wastegate and boost controller though iirc.

A louder one can be fitted, but you can do more harm to performance than good.

prob called a "waste gate" or somthing in the book.

makes a "pish" type sound when you change gear/ come of the gas pedle

lol yea its a wastegate a DV would waste boost would it not when changing gear ? at the minute you can hear when i accelerate or change gear which is nice also when i take my foot off the happy pedal you get a nice "whhhhhhhhhhhashhhhhhhh"" :D

Thanks couzens :)

lmao I did that yesterday with the air filter, also on the way home there for lunch I took gaz's advice and took the cover off the air filter but left the filter in.. the turbo is so much louder even spinning! got a brand new K&N 57i on the way that fits a 1.4/1.6 clio so as soon as I ensure it fits properly with out too much work i'll maybe take a little video for you guys :D

Should fit Adam mate..

Airbox looks the same as my 1.4 and my 197.. throttle bodys in a different spot thats all.

eeek! well as i say my front on is smashed basically, the back one the paints a little jippy on it so im awaiting to get the side skirts and a new front then ill get them all painted. the other option was i seen a replica 197 rear bumper for my clio with the defuesser and all tis quite nice..

once the filters on its being booked in to get a remap.. might get the standard wheels sprayed gun metal kinda colour or black depends.. we'll see how funds go!

aye mate ive 30mm springs on the order :D dont want it lowered to much as i drive around alot with work.. 7k mile in 4 months :eek: 100bhp 1.2 :p

adam, have you got a link to any sets of eibach lowering springs for the 1.2 turbo mk3 clio as I've been looking into lowering springs for mine (I have the exact same car mate). Also whereabouts are you getting it remapped, know of any companies that have actually remapped these engine clios before? And what performance gains have they achieved? bhp etc. Cheers

Told you adam.. dropped and stripped is the way forward...

Chipped, Lowered and Stripped 1.2 Turbo pushing 130bhp ftw!

Josh my dad was able to get me them on special order from Eibach themselves and its a comany in Northern Ireland the guy said I should get an extra 25-30bhp and 35/40nm extra of torque too. Ill post pics of lowered / air filter and the dyno charts before and after!
