Got rid of the TomTom 500 today and bought a TomTom 510 instead!

such a big improvement imo.

There the nutts arn't they, I work for a company that sell them. Got to borrow the 910 for a week. Needed to borrow the antenna tho as it didn't like the windscreen..

indeed... i get 3 satellites through the clio windscreen so it does work, but im getting an extra antenna too

we sell them too... hence i was able to "swap" my old one :approve:

When you get it, just run the lead to the parcel shelf. No need for it to be 'External'.

it works, but only just. i usually have 2 or 3 bars on the display which equates to 3 or 4 satellites.

im going to get an external antenna to improve things

go in texaco garage fill up with petrol and then get a cheap road map........

yeh on my talex gps i get ok singal but not the best and sometimes abit slow at the start to first locate you, im going to get a router to the back of the car.

I'm wanting the 710 but nobody stocks them yet? All the major retailers have the 510 and 910, but not the 710. Do you know why? I want a Tom Tom with the European maps

they're not available to the suppliers yet. I phoned up our buyers the other day and they reckon another few weeks for the 710.

At £399 the 710 is the one to go for. Only £50 more than the 510

It has the new sirf star III chipset... Works perfectly through my windscreen (I've got a poor-man's TomtomONE though).
