Hello chaps
When I bought my FF it had a non-res gravity cat back which was pretty loud & raspy (loved it). Consequently I think a lot of odd sounds got away underneath the rasp machine.
Have now got a resonated Janspeed which is much quieter.
Sounds great for the most part however have noticed an unusual bit of resonance/vibration from the front of the car when I get up to 3-4k rpm.
Easy to ignore for the occasional spirited drives as it I don’t typically hold revs that high. Not so much on the motorway.
Took a 500 mile round trip have noticed this sound kicks in around the same rpm but only around 75-80mph on or off throttle. Goes away above 80mph.
Very hard to put in to words will try get a video. In the meantime if anyone has an idea advice where to look first that’d be massively appreciated.
It’s a sound a I can only describe as a bit whiney, a bit hummy, a bit too revvy. Super intrusive on the motorway.
Could be down to design but have no idea as it’s my first Clio wondering if an acoustic valve plays a big enough part in keeps things tight ? dunno.
Cheers
