My sub is flying around the boot!

  R35 GTR
How does everyone keep their subs secured? I think I will use the hook at the back of the boot to strap it to is there a better way?

Its only a small 10" vibe sub, so I cant wedge it in tight like you guys with the twin 12" subs.

thanks.

  MK1 CLIO TURBO!!
is the spare wheel located in the boot or underneath??

they way i got fixed this problem was to cut an MDF sheet to the size of the boot and then covered that in fabric. i then took the sub out of the box and screwed through the bottom of the sub box into the MDF sheet. then replaced the sub.

with the MK1 the spare wheel is located underneath so i had to cut a bit out of the sheet so i could get to the spare wheel carrier release hook

Or you could do what my friend has done with his 10" sub

You can get velcro and use that, he put strips along the bottom and it doesnt move at all, it's quiet a struggle to even move it so it will definitly not move

Looks neat too!

(Beat Me To It :dapprove: )

It happens on the rounabouts, at 20mph I hear it banging around.

will try the velcro, or might just sell it.....

thanks for the info.

Built a false floor and covered with fabric that closely resembles what was in there before.. easy after that.

same....amp and sub stuck with velcro strips from halfords, not budged an inch in 7months...

  Valver..
set the sub where you wont it to sit... get a piece of 4x2 measure the gap eother side of the sub
cut 2 pieces of wood that will fit nicely in both sides of the sub...NO CHANCE IT WILL MOVE THEN... then if u wont to cover the wood on black cloth... best way i habe found!!! :D :D

  Oyster Card
I use some autogylm(sp?) spray on glue which sticks the sub to the carpet, also sprayed the rear of the carpet.
Doesn't ruin it either as I've removed it a couple of times.

Velcro isnt the best stuff to use, it secures it from moving aroun etc, but if you ever have a accident no way will velcro hold it, it will puch through the rear seats and into the cabin

Which is why you put it on the passenger side so that your ok ;)

Short of bolting it through the metal floor, velcro is probably the best imo, mine hasnt moved in 2 years! Ive got a vibe which came with 4 wee bits but I added a few more!

lol, nice on ^. Most people do use velcro as its easier but be warned what can happen though

Muwhaha, Vinny saw what happened with my Velcro ^_^

Velcro holds it from all driving, but I had a spinny-spinny in the wet, and that made my sub come loose. But the answer would be; dont drive daft enough to spin... :p

However; it was the glue'd side of the velcro that gave.... the "grippy" side of the velcro held onto the carpet!!!!!! LoL, strong stuff 'tis!

False floor IMHO.

Ok, changed my mind now, got a big sheet of MDF not doing anything, so i think I will use it.

Is it ok just to use boot mat as a template, does it fit tight?

  Clio 172 mk2
go with velcro a have and put a screw and a holding bracket on the black metal bit behind the seats

i use an mdf piece of wood aswell the exact same way and you can secure your amp/amps to it aswell works a treat
