N95 problems

It loses the time and date everytime you turn it off and crashes frequently. I only use it for calls and texting, don't bother with the satnav or camera, sometimes use the wifi though but im not demanding alot of it. I ve reinstalled the software twice now and it hasn't fixed it some im assuming its fucked, only got it the end of August so it must be in warranty.

cant say ive had a problem with the date and time at all and mine has crashed a couple of times but very rarely and nothing like my N80 did

usually you can fix it by reinstalling the software but this time its having none of it, crashes a couple of times a day and theres loads of memory left.

Yeah I will have to go back to the vodafone shop, apparently they send it off for repair though so I will be without a phone, I was just trying to see if it was a common problem/ fix.

no point owning one if you dont use the features mate :)

you may as well get a smaller, faster, easier to use phone that doesnt do a great deal but runs a better as it isnt as demanding on the phone to do all the things the N95 does!

alternatively, flash generic firmware with the latest going!

I ve got a decent digital camera, and a dedicated sat nav so i have never really felt the need.
May see if I can swap it for something else.

Took it into the vodafone shop today, its getting sent off for repair, get it back on the 26th.
£20 for a courtesy phone robbing b******s, luckily i didn't need one as I keep a spare phone. However I pointed out to the sales guy what sort of halfwit would pay £20 for a loan phone when you can buy a brand new pay as you go shitter for that in the same shop which you don't have to give back!

Probably don't get an N95. Just collected mine this afternoon (they have had it in for repair for a week and a half under warranty). Got home, still does exactly the same thing it did when I took it in, loses the date and time everytime you switch it off.
Im paying alot of money every month to have this 'amazing' phone and for the last two weeks I ve been using my shitty old one. f**k knows what they've been doing it for a week and half.
Just on my way back in to give them hell, I want a brand new one or im going to deficate in the middle of the shop.

Had my N95 since day one with no such problems. The only thing I could suggest is a firmware upgrade. I know that has resolved every issue I ever had with the phone.

Sounds like there is something wrong with yours though !

That was my impression too, apparently not though, Nokia's policy is it has to go back 3 times for repair before you get a new one.
I argued in there for ages and even spoke on their phone to their superiors, the guy in the shop agreed with me that I needed a new one, but he couldn't physically put it through the system as there was block on exchanging Nokia N95s.
So its been sent off again, managed to get a months free line rental out of them though, which I guess isn't bad.

Thats what I thought it would be mate, but I updated the software myself and they have put the latest firmware on it and that hasn't cured it!

Yes, they have put the latest version of their software on it. Not Nokias. When you buy a phone it comes with Network specific software, which with Orange, Tmobile, Three and Vodaphone it is more often than not buggy as f**k. O2 are normally the only decent ones because all they do is change the welcome note and theme, thats it.

Anyways, upgrade the software yourself and I assure you any software based problems will be solved.

I upgraded the software myself by plugging it into the Nokia website, when they sent it off they had it for a week and half but no idea whether it went to Nokia or Vodafone.
Its more than a software problem anyway.
