Named Driver No Claims

My friend shares a car with his mum so his mum is the policy holder.

He is with CIS and they do Named Driver NCB.

He is trying to tell me that after a year he will have 1 years no claims and he can go and buy a car and insure it with 1 years no claims.

I told him that he will need to stay with CIS but he is adamant that he will have 1 years NC offically to take to other companys

I even gave him the link to the CIS website where it says you acctually have to be 19 to be included in the program and that the no claims can only be used with CIS. He is 17 so doesn't acctually qualify.

Iv tried telling him but he has the attitude that he is always right and won't back down.

How do i tell him hes talking BS?

I'm with CIS.

You are right, he is wrong lol.

Although, some companies (can't remember off the top of my head) do accept named drivers no claims from other policies..

But as you have said he needs to be 19 before he can start earning NCB anyway.

Hmm thats got me worrying abit.

Im with Direct Line and it says named drivers get no claims as well, it doesn't say anything about age (I'm 17 btw)

Does anyone know if there is a age restriction?

Iv looked up the terms etc on Direct Lines website and it doesn't say anything about age. Best to phone up and ask.

My friend says his mum asked when she setup the policy about his no claims and the woman said he would get no claims but he isn't getting the message from me since i have provided him with proof from his companys terms and conditions lmao. He is still adamant he will get no claims.

We shall see come renewal time

Why do you need him to believe it?

You've presented him with the facts, you know you're right... leave it at that.

He'll find out sure enough.
