I think its a new gearbox, or is there any advice any1 can give me, or any1 got a box for sale?

Nasty crunch when going into 3rd gear!!!

To fully solve it, yes it sounds as if you need a new box, but first, give the box an oil change and make sure you use the correct grade oil, and buy some Forte diff and gear treatment (you can get it off Ebay) it's great stuff and the only additive i use - it won't fix it, but id make a very big bet that it will make it a lot better (Bear in mind it takes a few hundred miles for the forte stuff to start working)
I really don't want to worry you, but when mine started crunching going into 2nd,
it went bang at 70mph a few weeks later, but that could just be mine tbh.
I'm sure it'll run for a while if you miss out 3rd whenever you can.
Second hand boxes can be had for £150-£250, unless you want to send yours away for a refurb,
but i'm asuming you need to use your car every day?
