Basically, last night I was meant to be going out with the lads to watford, then realised I had forgotten my smart shoes so had to drive back home to pick them up (we were getting a cab from radlett)
On the way home I was on the left lane of the dual carriageway and pulled into the middle lane (like 50m gap between car infront and car behind, indicated, checked mirrors etc) Then as the traffic was slowing down (red traffic light ahead) the car behind me (Astra estate with 5 men in it) swerved out without indicating and then tried to wedge itself into the gap between me and the car infront.
The gap was less than a cars length so this forced me out into the right hand lane to avoid the car smashing into my side, no cars etc in the lane. I stopped at the traffic lights in the right hand lane.
As i was waiting at the light, a motorcyclist knocked on my window, so I opened it and he told me that I hadnt indicated and could have knocked him off, and I apologised and was explaining what had happened. During this time the silver astra had pulled out into my lane and stopped behind me. While I was talking to the motocyclist one of the men (white, 30 or so)had opened his door, ran up and punched me f*cking hard in the face, another door from the car behind then opened so i floored it (lights had changed) and got home as quickly as possible (my eyeball was actually bleeding etc).
Got it checked out later on last night, and had to go back this morning. Apparently he must have been wearing a ring or something as I have
"corneal abrasions and conjunctival hemmoraging" lol
Had some tests etc and good news is that retina etc is all intact. My eye is swollen shut and the white bit is all pure red (not jut bloodshot, actual red). Apparently it may have severed some of the drainage of the eye so going back on wednesday to have it checked up.
Worst part about it all was that i had both hands on the wheel and didnt even see the guy coming. (Im 17 btw, he was 30 or so - saw him in the front passenger seat when they were behind me)
Now the advice bit, not sure whether to report it to the police etc, as there is no cctv at those lights so not sure what good it will do. Im worried that if they do find the guys (cctv further up the road), it could escalate . Also worried that if they see my car around they will recognise it and f*ck it up.
Cant play rugby etc for a couple of weeks and it kinda ruined my mates bday night out. Im glad they didnt smash anything on my car though and just did the one punch, could have been much worse if I hadnt gotten out of there. I think they were just looking for trouble etc, but ive never been punched by an adult before so came as a bit of a shock.
/Rant. Sorry it was so long, never had something like this happen before so not sure what do to.
