Need advice on new hdd...

Hey dudes, i gotta buy a new hdd for my computer, i curently have a 300gig sata Western Digital hdd, but since finding out about newsgroups a few months ago i now have less than 100 meg left!!!! Didnt realise untill i got a windows warning saying that my hdd space is low!

Now i can backup some stuff and delete some stuff i dont need, but im thinking its best to get a second hdd, start fresh with a new winxp install.

What large sata hdd's do you recommend, i want the best and fastest, oh and how much are they and does running 2 get hot, as they will be on top of each other?

Any ideas...?

For heat you can have hard drive fans if your concerned.

As you've got a SATA drive already I'd guess your motherboard has another SATA connection so I would recmmend a SATA drive again. Size is up to you really.

As far as makes go I would personally get a Maxtor drive but I know everyone else will have there own opinion.

lol i hope they don't get too hot as i've got 6 hdd's on top of each other in my pc lol.

i like my seagate drives but i find they are all preety good these days imho

ya i heared they are all pretty decent nowadays, just thought that the bigger the drive the slower the performance, but not sure if this is true for the new sata drives, been looking at the Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 11 400GB on overclokers, they have a deal here http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Maxtor_sata.html bout half way down, any good, might buy this 2day...?

Nothing wrong with that, spins at 7,200rpm which is fine.
