Need new number plates

I need some plates where the reg itself needs to be raised. Seen this on some cars and looks pretty neet. Phoned up a company that deals in plates and they quoted me £55 for the pair. Seems very dear that. Anyone know where to get them from cheaper?

think they might be .... dont numberplates have to be reflective ? :S

nah there not pressed plates. there pretty much a std perspex but the letters and digits are like 3-D effect raised slightly of the perspex. And yes they are illegal

when i spoke to the guy from the company, he did say something like that. i never seen them up close to see how they were made. i noticed there's another thread on this but it's about 2 or 3 years old with no up to date info on where to get them.

Yeah Knuckles, i'm getting tired of these plates now been on a fair few years, i could get some german or french style plates. Something abit more smarter. I've got some std plain plates carbon letters though, could stick those on for the time being

found a site that does them, these are the plates i was on about, go to text style and press 3-D Carbon or Domed Black

So your after a set of raised plates that ain,t street legal, so what you going to do when you get pulled by the old bill, keep paying the fixed penalties :S and then what happens at MOT time going to change them over :S

I've got a set of plates which arnt street legal on for years and had many MOT's and been fine. and yes i know those raised plates are illegal as i use to work in a car accessory shop

to be honest when i originally wrang i was surprised how much the plates were, prob cost them about £15-£20
