Im having to replace the rear dampers, shock absorbers on my clio 182, ones leaking like hell and knackered. Just wondering if they have to be replaced with standard 182 ones? or whether i can replace just the back dampers, (not including springs) with 182 cup ones?? Hope taht makes sense, tar

Ok thanks mick :) Ill ask the guy to get them sent off then. So is it a simple take off my dampers and replace them with the ones the guys took off his cup? Women here lol, so speak slowly ;) Gonna do it on the drive when they come if there no jiggery pokery fitting that needs to be changed and etc.

One nut at the top, one bolt at the bottom.
its probably one of the more simple jobs you can take on, so fingers crossed you should be okay :)

lol. im changing the ballast pack on drivers side headlight too. From what i gather thats more of a pain in the ass than the dampers will be.

Where abouts in the country are you?
I'm sure someone would be able to offer a little assistance if you ran into trouble.

have you already bought some rear struts yet?

Im in good old, very wet and cold West Yorkshire. No i haven't yet. One guy messaged me earlier, but having replied he hasn;t got back to me yet... Doesn't fair well for a girl with extremely little patience lol

I can't really offer any support from that distance, but i do have a pair of rear shocks off of our 182 Cup.
when we bought the car it needed a pair of rears, we bought genuine items from our local dealership and have now covered in the region of 6 - 7000 miles to date.
only removed as we have just sacrificed the car from being a primarily road usage vehicle and fitted AST's for track days.

They can be yours if you wish for £30, but i wouldn't be able to get them in the post until first thing Saturday morning.... If that's of any use?

Gonna be a busy girl next week, changing rear dampers over, might spray my calipers up gloss black, they are looking tired, need to tighten up my exhaust mounts, take front bumper off and replace drivers side ballast, and put some non return valves in for headlight washers whilst i have it off. Oh and changing the gear knob insert cause mines no longer recognisable. Also need to bodge something to clip the parcel shelf hooks onto boot lid frame, and bodge something to repair where its cracked the shelf from the boot lid forcing it down when i close it.

Does that even make sense. lol

:)
