Need some help!

Basically I am buying a clio 182 cup 55 reg. I have put deposit down etc. One thing that is annoying me is the fact that the dealer says that the missing bulb left of the gearbox lever has been fitted after the car was produced. I know that on the clio 182 cup 55 reg comes standard with this if you guys know what I mean? The dealer says their is no wiring comes from the hole where the bulb should be that flashes red once you have locked the car. This is all part of the security?
Can someone give me a heads up please? Feel like someone is taking me for a ride! Hope you understand what I mean.

The bulb I take it your on about is infact ther little red LED by the gearshifter?

If so yep it was fitted on UK spec cars at the point of importing, some install are better than others though

Check the car has the alarm fitted some people try to pass imports off as proper Uk spec cars which wont have the standard alarm fitted. Have a look for the sensors on the front pillars. Or check you can set the alarm off.

I'd try setting the alarm off like edde said. Gently push one of the doors to, but not so it's properly closed. Try locking it and it should make a beeping sound to let you know the car isn't shut properly.

Yeah that's it edde. Well apparently he says the car will be ready tomorrow so what I will do is check that beeping malarky and hope it works! There are sensors on the front pillars like you said. It's just the little red LED by the gearshifter that is missing. Like I said he says their is no wiring leading from the missing LED which is now just a hole as the dealer tells says? He probably can't be bothered to do the job. But as this is part of the security wouldn't this be false advertisement?

Might be he cannot be bothered hunting round under the dash might be the lights been knocked through

I now own a racing blue clio 182!!!! The bleeping noise worked and they fixed the LED, over the moon. Thanks for the help.
