Ok... here goes.

I have a PC and a laptop. All i want is for the internet to work wireless for the laptop and the PC to work via a wired connection to the router.

Now i put all the settings into the router with my laptop and it just started working via wireless no issues. i couldn't beleive my luck.

So i plugged the PC in via cable and low and behold it worked too. I really couldn't beleive i had managed it.

Anyhow....

I turned the PC off and i moved my laptop and then it just said it was connected to the local network (ie the netgear router) but no internet....

It seems the internet will only work if both PC's are on.

I tried turning the laptop off and only the PC but it would then only connect to the router and not the internet....

Any suggestions? I have no idea tbh.

netgear jobbie. bog standard one.

i was in the middle of updating vista when it went wierd. f**k knows. i'm on the laptop with the pc turned off. no issues. i've tested it the other way round and it works so i must have done something right along the way.
